the main theorem used is=)tangents drawn from a single external point to the circle is equal in length.

therefore AF=AD=x

FC=CE=y

EB=DB=z

therefore from above,

x+y=20

y+z=16

x+z=24

also

AF+AD+FC+CE+EB+DB=60

2 (x+y+z)=60

x+y+z =30 (substitute,y+z=16)

x+16=30

x=30-16

x=14=AD

therefore,

y=20-14=6(x+y=20)

CF=6

BE=z=24-14=10 (x+z=24)

overall,

AD=14cm

CF=6cm

BE=10cm
