see . for equal roots b^2 - 4ac = 0
thus [-(k-2)] ^2 - 4×2×1 = 0
thus (k-2)^2 -8 = 0
k^2 -4k+ 4 -8 =0
k^2 -4k-4=0
which is again a quad. eqn.
thus roots will be
k = [-(-4)+- sq.root of (16-16)]/2×1. (using quad. formula)
thus k= (4+-0)/2 = 2...
hope it helps you.

krit02: I am sorry but your ans is wrong
Unusual: u need not be. what's the answer then
krit02: Bro its 2(1+√2)
Unusual: yeah . my answer is wrong . sorry sorry
krit02: How plZ can u explain me
krit02: Bro
krit02: Plz explain fast as possible
Unusual: yes. by putting in the value of k in the given eqn
Unusual: it doesn't give out equal roots . while the value you told me gives equal roots
