Q.1. If Megha's age is increased by three times her age, the result is 60 years. Find her age.

Ans: let the age of Megha = x
if it is increased 3 times her age = 3×x = 3x
but according to the question if her age is increased 3 times, her age = 60yr.s

so 3x = 60

=> x = 60/3
= 20

Hence Megha's age is 30 years.

Q.2. 28 is less than 4 times a number. Find the number.

Ans: let the number = n
4 times the number = 4×x = 4x
according to the question,

28 = 4n - 12

=> 4n = 28 + 12

=> 4n = 40

=> n = 40/4
= 10

Hence, the number is 10
