Three functions of the state legislature are:

* It makes laws for the state.

* It passes the annual budget of the state.

* It keeps a check on the council of minister of state

2.The Constitution vests in the governor all the executive powers of the state government. The governor appoints the chief minister, who enjoys the support of the majority in the State Legislative Assembly. He or she also appoints the Advocate General and the chairman and members of the State Public Service Commission.

3.Article 356 state that the president can invoke president rule in a state on the report of the governor if the state machinery/legislature fails to abide by constitutional norms.

The state governments should be given more powers to control the crimes in the society. It requires a longer process to be continued for any case to reach the central government so state government should be authorized to take certain immediate and necessary actions in their hand to prevent crimes.
