Let the present age of sahil be x.

Given that the present age of sahil's mother is three times the age of sahil.

So, the age of his mother = 3x.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now,

After 5 years:

= > Age of sahil = x + 5.

= > Age of sahil's mother = 3x + 5.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Given that After 5 years their ages will add to 66 years.

= > x + 5 + 3x + 5 = 66

= > 4x + 10 = 66

= > 4x = 56

= > x = 14.

Therefore, present age of sahil = 14 years.

Hope this helps!

 \mathbf{ Let \:  present  \: age \:  of  \: Sahil  \:  is  \:  \: x \:  years } \\ <br /> \mathbf{So,  \: present  \: age \:  of \:  his \:  mother  \: will  \: be \:  \:  3x \:  years    }  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: [ According \:  to  \: the \:  question  ]

After 5 years,
Age of sahil = ( Present age + 5 ) = ( x + 5 ) years

Age of his mother = ( Present age + 5 ) = ( 3x + 5 ) years

Given, after 5 years sum of their ages will be 66 years,

=> x + 5 + 3x + 5 = 66

=> 4x = 66 - 10

=> 4x = 56

=> 4 × x = 4 × 14

 \mathbf{ =&gt;  \:  \: x = 14}

Hence, Present age of sahil = x = 14 years

Present of sahil's mother = 3x = 3( 14 ) = 42 years
