Plz help me in this question.
Find the area of the figure ABCDEFGH ~ AC = 17m, BC = 8m, EF = 9m, GD = 6m, GL bisects EF & GL = 3.6m

Area of the trapezium EFGD=

 \frac{1}{2} ( EF + GD )  \times GL

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 15 \times 3.6 {}^{2}

= 27 m

Using Pythagoras theorem ,

we have AB²= ( AC )² - ( BC )²

= 17²-8²

= 289 - 64

AB² = 225

AB = 15 cm .

Area of rectangle ABCH = AB X BC

= 15 x 8 cm

= 120 cm

Hence , area of the figure

ABCDEFGH = area of trapezium EFGD + area of rectangle ABCH

= ( 27 + 120 ) cm²

= 147 cm
