plz help me in this sum

the radius of a sphere is doubled, what will be the ratio of its surface area to that of the first sphere.​

let the radius of 1st sphere be x

...... radius of other one will be 2x

Now , For the 1st sphere

Surface area = 4πr²

For the 2nd sphere

Surface area = 4π(2r)²

= 4π4r²

= 8πr²

Ratio of surface area from 1st to 2nd sphere is......

4πr²:8πr²

=1:2
