Answer:

in plain water ,raisins swell due to the intake of water by endosmosis since water concentration is higher in external environment than raisins.

2)in sugar solution raisins will shrink due to exosmosis since water concentration is higher in cells of raisins than in sugar solution.

3) endosmosis

4) exosmosis

Answer:

1. a) When the raisin is dipped in plain water, the water molecules enter the raisin from the water as there are more amount of water molecules in water. The raisin becomes turgid.

b) When the raisin is dipped in sugar solution, the water molecules exit the raisin as there are more amount of water molecules in the raisin. The raisin becomes flaccid.

2. The process is osmosis.

Thank you
