\bold{Given : (\frac{x + 1}{x + 2})^2 =\frac{x + 2}{x + 4}}

\bold{\Rightarrow \frac{x^2 + 1 + 2x}{x^2 + 4 + 4x} =\frac{x + 2}{x + 4}}

=> (x + 4)(x^2 + 1 + 2x) = (x + 2)(x^2 + 4 + 4x)

=> x^3 + x + 2x^2 + 4x^2 + 4 + 8x = x^3 + 4x + 4x^2 + 2x^2 + 8 + 8x

=> x^3 + x + 2x^2 + 4x^2 + 4 + 8x - x^3 - 4x - 4x^2 - 2x^2 - 8x = 8

=> -3x = 8 - 4

=> -3x = -4

=> x = -4/3.
