2x^2 + px + 4 = 0
Let’s first put 2 as a zero !

2(2)^2 +p(2) + 4 = 0
2(4) +2p +4 = 0
8 + 2p +4 = p
12 + 2p = 0
2p = -12
p = -6

Other zero —>
2x^2 - 6x + 4 = 0 is the equation this obtained.
By splitting the middle term method ,

2x^2 - 2x - 4x + 4 = 0
2x ( x - 1 ) - 4 ( x - 1 ) = 0
2x-4=0 and x-1=0
x=2 and x= 1

We already had 2 as a zero. So the other zero is +1.

Hope that helps.

Answer:

2x^2 + px + 4 =0

x = 2

2(2)^2 + p (2) + 4 = 0

8 + 3p +4 = 0

12 +2p = 0

2p = -12

p = -6

put the value of p in the equation

2x^2 + px + 4 =0

2x^2 + (-6)x +4=0

2x^2 - 2x - 4x + 4 =0

2x(x-1) -4(x-1) = 0

(2x-4) =0 or (x-1) = 0

2x =4 or x = 1

x = 2

hence,the the other root of of this polynomial is 1
