1. A body is said to be in motion if it changes its position with respect to its surroundings. Basically, there are three types of Motion, Translatory motion, Rotatory motion, and Vibratory motion.

  • Translatory motion
  • Linear motion
  • Circular motion
  • Random motion
  • Rotatory motion
  • Vibratory motion

2. Distance:

Distance is a scalar quantity and displacement is a vector quantity.

Distance has only magnitude. It measures the actual ground covered. Distance can only be positive.

Displacement :

Displacement of a particle is the line joining the initial position and the current position at current time t.  It is a vector quantity.  It  has a magnitude and a direction from initial point to the final point.  magnitude of displacement vector can be negative or positive or zero.

To find the displacement, we use the velocity vector and time. Rate of change of displacement is the velocity.

3. SI unit of distance and displacement both is m(meter)

Hopes helps you friend plz mark it's as brainliest answer ....

Answer:

4. Distance: 10 meters and Displacement: 40 meters

Explanation:

To calculate the distance just add the the paths the farmer taken. I.e 15m + 10m + 15m = 40m.

Displacement is the shortest path between two points. In this case the farmer walks all the way to points B and C when he could take the straight path directly from A to D which is 10m, since it's a rectangle opposite sides are equal.

I hope it helps .
