the answer is zero.

In order to understand this, you have to learn how to draw graph of f(|x|).

It is given that the function is defined in[-1,3]. So its graph will cover from -1 to 3 in x.

Now when you will draw g(|x|) then x will be defined from [-3,3] (as we erase the portion of graph in the negative side of x and draw the mirror image of the positive side of x in the negative side of x). So its sum is 0. (x belongs to [-1,0] portion will be completely removed from the graph instead it will show the mirror image of x belong to[0,1]).
