Answer:

The ratio of their volume is:

(a) 64:27

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of the surface area of the sphere are 16:9

Let, Surface area of first sphere is  pi r1 x r1 (supposing radius r1);

volume : pi r1 x r1 x r1

Let, Surface area of second sphere is  pi r2 x r2 (supposing radius r2)

volume : pi r2 x r2 x r2

Given,  (pi r1 x r1)/  (pi r2 x r2) = 16:9

=> (r1/r2)^2 = 16/9 = (4/3)^2

=> r1/r2 = 16/9 = 4/3

So the ratio of their volume is: (pi r1 x r1 x r1) / (pi r2 x r2 x r2)

= (r1/r2)^3 = (4/3) ^3 = 64/ 27 = 64:27
