India has a variable climate. This can be proved with the help of the following examples.
1. In summer, the mercury occasionally touches 50°C in some parts of the Rajasthan desert, whereas it might be around 20°C in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
2.In winter, night temperature at Drass in Jammu and Kashmir may be as low as minus 40°C. Thiruvananthapuram on the other hand may have a temperature of 22° C.
3. The annual rainfall in Rajasthan is hardly 10 cm. whereas it is above 400 cm. in Meghalaya.
4. During monsoons, whole country receives rainfall except Tamilnadu.
5. Coastal region does not experience much variation in temperature pattern due to the moderating influence of the sea
