plz help!!!

To take a taxi, it costs $3.00 plus an additional $2.00 per mile traveled. You spent exactly $20 on a taxi, which includes the $1 tip you left.
How many miles did you travel?

Atq..
Taxi Fare for the 1st mile=3$
Taxi Fare for the 2nd mile=5$

This forms an AP: 3, 5, 7.......
Now, it's given that 1$ is given as tip..
therefore, total money paid for distance travelled=20-1=19$

Now, we have,
a=3, d=2, an=19,. to find=n (no. of miles travelled)
An=a+(n-1)d
19=3+(n-1)2
16=(n-1)2
8=n-1
n=9
therefore, total distance travelled is 9 miles
