A rape is one of the worst things you can do to another human being.

I would never show any mercy to those who commit it, because my sense of privacy is high and I hate when someone crosses my border. Those people with their horrible guilt didn't show any respect to the other person, so they shouldn't be respected nowhere.

Especially because you don't know how vulnerable was the victim and how much it destroys his/her life.

Yeah, it may be drastic to some but I certainly would apply some torture ( won't describe any ideas ) in first place, repeating it in the $\orange{\mathfrak{ slavery process}}$. I think all people who are in jail should work for little to no money ( depending on what they did ), maybe putting together some pen parts, whatever they actually are able to do.

Like in previous times, worst criminals should of course be exposed to other people, maybe in cages to show their face to the majority, and there should be a description of what the person did to earn such a punishment.

You can steal, you can destroy, you can sell drugs...
but raping somebody, disrespecting their privacy, making a stamp on their whole future life, causing the victim to hate him/herself and never being able to feel comfortable with his/her body and mind.......

This should be punished with the same consequences that the one has caused to the victim.

Rape is undoubtedly a heinous crime and an issue of great concern in India today. Despite enacting new laws with stringent punishments and setting up fast-track courts, things have not changed much. With more rape cases are coming to the fore and covered in the news, few questions always come to our mind.

Considering the punishments meted out in other countries, India is too soft on convicts. In fact, before 2013, rape was not considered a major crime. The highest degree of punishment that could be given to the convict was imprisonment for seven years This was possible only when the culprit was arrested and proved guilty.

After the $\red{\mathfrak{ Nirbhaya incident }}$, the Parliament passed the Anti-rape Bill. Now, an act of rape is liable to life-long imprisonment and even death penalty in extreme cases.

are also liable to stringent punishments.
The new law has the provision of awarding minimum 20 years of rigorous imprisonment, which can extended to life imprisonment to those found guilty of gang-rape.
Out of the six men arrested in the infamous Nirbhaya rape case of December 2012, four of the accused adults were awarded death penalty in March 2014. It took almost two-and-half years for the judiciary to give the verdict.

Traditionally India has been very much attached with social stigma with Rape, loss of Virginity and Sex in general, and victims used to suicide many a times. In such social construct, it has been very important to give very stringent(even death) punishment.
