Total no. of eggs = 18 dozens

10 dozens are sold at the price of Rs 3.5 per dozen

So total gain by selling 10 dozens out of 18 = Rs 35

Now average gain is 25 paise per egg

So total gain = 25 × 12 × 18 = 5400 paise = 54 Rs

So total gain by selling 8 dozens small eggs = 54 - 35 = 19 Rs

So gain by selling each dozen = 19÷ 8 = Rs 2.73
