Hey there !

Solution:

Let the number of Nickels be 'n' and Number of quarters be 'm'

Value of One nickel = 5 cents

Value of One Quarter = 25 cents

Value of 1 dollar = 100 cents

=> Value of $ 1.60 = 160 cents

=> 5n + 25m = 160

=> n + 5m = 32  => Equation 1

Also Peggy had 3 times as many quarters as nickels.

=> 3n = m

Hence the value of 1 m is 3n.

Hence option ( d ) is correct.

Hope my answer helped !
