Question :-

To find the value of from the given figure.

Required Answer:-

Assumption :-

Let us assume given triangle as triangle ABC and let AD is perpendicular to BC.

To find :-

The value of x in triangle ABC

___________________________

solution:-

In Triangle ADC, angle ADC is 90°

By pythagoras theorem

(AB)^2=(AD)^2+(BD)^2

(37)^2=(12)^2+(BD)^2

1369 - 144 = (BD)^2

1225 = (BD)^2

BD = 35 units

similarly we can find DC = 35 units (since AD is perpendicular to BC)

Therefore,

BC = BD + DC - (A-B-D)

x = 35 + 35

x = 70 units.

Extra knowledge :-

pythagoras theorem :-

According to the pythagoras theorem hypotenuse sqaure is equal to the submation of sqaures of other two sides

How to apply pythagoras theorem?

pythagoras theorem is only applicable in right angled triangle which means one angle should be 90°
