Given :

We are provided with tabular data of class , with marks obtained and frequency

Formula used :

  • Mean = sum of total observation ÷ number of observation
  • Mode = observation which has occurred for maximum number of times ( that is , have highest frequency)

Table :

\begin{tabular}{|c|c|c|}\cline{1-3}\sf Marks\:obtained\:(x)&\sf Frequency\:(f)&\sf fx\\\cline{1-3}5&4&20\\\cline{1-3}6&3&18\\\cline{1-3}7&6&42\\\cline{1-3}8&5&40\\\cline{1-3}9&3&27\\\cline{1-3}10&1&10\\\cline{1-3}&$\sf\Sigma{f}=22$&$\sf\Sigma{fx}=157$\\\cline{1-3}\end{tabular}

{ For brainly users who use app , see attachment}

Solution :

1) Total strength = Sum of frequency  = \sf \sum f

➠ Total strength = 22

2) Mean score of class = \sf \sum fx

➠ Mean score = 157

3) Students who got more than 8 marks = Sum of frequency of students scoring 9 marks & 10 marks

➠Students who got more than 8 marks = 3+1

➠Students who got more than 8 marks =  4

4) Mode of data = Marks with highest frequency

➠ Mode of data = 7

5) Number of students who got less than 10 marks = Number of total students - Number of students who scored 10 marks

➠ Number of students who got less than 10 marks = \sf \sum f - 1

➠ Number of students who got less than 10 marks = 22 - 1

➠ Number of students who got less than 10 marks = 21
