Rice:
• Rice is the major food crop of the world. It is the staple diet of the tropical and sub-tropical regions.
• Rice needs high temperature, high humidity and rainfall. It grows best in alluvial clayey soil, which can retain water.
• Leading producers of rice in the world: - China, India, Japan, Sri Lanka, etc.

(b) Wheat:
• It requires moderate temperature and rainfall during growing season and bright sunshine at the time of harvest.
• It requires well drained loamy soil for its growth.
• Wheat is grown extensively in USA, Canada, Argentina, Russia, Ukraine, Australia and India.

A 1. rice is a staple crop of India it is grown well in hot and moist climate the geographical conditions for rice cultivation

TEMPERATURE - 16 -27c and rainfall 100 cm to 200 cm is ideal for rice growing but rainfall during harvest  times is harmful annual coverage temperature around 24 degree is ideal

SOIL- rice grown well on the alluvial soil on the fertile river basins it is also grown in mixed soil or loamy soil or clayey soil

LAND- plain lands or gentle slopes are suitable for the production of the rice because of the stagnacy of water is a must for the cultivation of rice

plenty of cheap labour is also required for the production of rice

H Y V seeds , plenty of chemical manure , irrigation water can produce more rice.

A 2. wheat is the 2nd most important crop of India it is the crop of temperate zone in india it is grown in winter it is more dependent on climate than soil the geographical condition required for wheat cultivation ;

TEMPERATURE- wheat requires 14 degree to 18 degree temperature high temperature is harmful for the cultivation of wheat

RAINFALL- 50 cm to 100 cm rainfall is required for wheat cultivation in this primary stage cold moisture rich in climate and at the time of harvesting bright hot climate is required.

SOIL- fertile alluvial soil or mixed soil is ideal for wheat cultivation

LAND- lain land or gentle slope is ideal for wheat cultivation.    

plenty of labour along with fertilizers ,irrigation facilities, H Y V seeds like heera moti, RR 8 Kalyan etc and mechanised farming are good for wheat production. U P is the the largest producer of wheat following by punjab , haryana , M P ,T N , and bihar .

A .3    A FARM IN USA

1. the size of farm is large.

2. owners house is n the farm.

3. the farmers make sure that the soil and water resources meet the needs of transport.

4. the farmers take the help of technology and sells the soil samples to a soil testing labrotary to check whether soil has sufficient nutrients or not.

5. the farmer uses tractor, seed drills harvester, and all kinds of modern agricultural machinery.

6. the farmer has  a storage facility where he stores his crops before sending it to the market.

7. the farmer is the U S A works like business man.

A FARM IN INDIA

1. here the size of the land is comparitively small.

2. owners live in the main village and used to travel to the farm everyday.

3. due to inadequate supply of water and fertile soil, farmers had to purchase r high  yielding variety [H Y V] seeds from market every day

4. the farmers in India take advice from their friends and elders as well as government agricultural officers regarding farming.

6. he sells the crops in the mandi or market which is near by because they do not have storage facilities.

7. many farmers are exploited in India as peasents and get exploited b=by traders
