1.Saint Peter was extremely hungry and tired as well. Therefore, he arrived at the little women's cottage to get something to eat. Because He was fasting for the whole day and had nothing to eat.
2.After roaming around the Earth St peter was exhausted and hungry. He was so hungry that he felt he could faint anytime.
3.Saint peter asked for a small piece of cake because he was felling very hungry . The old lady was so greedy and selfish that she didn't give a single piece of cake also that was as small as a wafer.
4.“The day was alihost done” means that the day had finished or passed.
