Answer:

Mr. Aggarwal was a very wealthy businessman. One day he was alone sitting at his dining table when a thief entered his house. Instead of being scared Mr. Aggarwal thanked the thief to give him company. It was his birthday yet he had no one to celebrate it with. He was so desparate that he rolled out the red carpet (idiom) for the thief. He gave him good food and drinks. The thief could not believe what was happening, he expressed his gratitude. The businessman was so jovial that he handed over a purse full of silver coins, the thief was reluctant at first but Mr. Aggarwal insisted, telling the thief about his opulence. He was full of himself because of all the wealth he had. This day made the thief have a change of heart.

Years passed by, and both of their fortunes swapped. Mr Aggarwal's business was ruined and he was poverty sticken. It was his 50th birthday, this time too he had no one to celebrate it with. He thought to himself that if he was not poor, he could have celebrated it with whoever.

He sat alone, sobbing, he had no food or drinks. Suddenly, the bell rang and a man emerged from behind the door. Mr. Aggarwal recognised the man. It was the thief with whom Mr Aggarwal celebrated his birthday years ago. He came with fruits, sweets and drinks and a bag full of money. Mr. Aggarwal was overjoyed with tears in his eyes. He came to know the meaning of wealth. It was the friendship he earned that will last.
