Solution:

Let the age of Rahul be x years.

So, the age of Rahul's Father will be 3x years

2(x + 12) = 3x + 12

2x + 24 = 3x + 12

24 - 12 = 3x - 2x

12 = x

∴ Rahul's age is x that is 12 years.

∴ His father's age will be 3x = 3(12) = 36 years.
