Carbon dioxide is used to carbonate sodas, as an alternative to water in fire extinguishers, solid carbon dioxide is used to cool large (industrial size) refrigeration systems, cement production, deforestation as well as the burning of fossil fuels like coal/oil/natural gas (with CO2 emissions as a byproduct), transportation, industrial sources, chemical production, petroleum production, and agricultural practices.
