plz say how do feathers help birds

sahilbagal28: Feathers are light and don’t add much to the weight of the bird. Most importantly, they provide a light-weight surface so the bird can push, with minimum labor, against the air which gives them lift. Additionally, the tail feathers can serve as a rudder to assist in steering. Feathers generally do not absorb moisture. If they did, rain water would make the bird too heavy to fly.

Hey.....here is your answer

Feathers help birds fly, but they also help them show off, blend in, stay warm, and keep dry. Some feathers have evolved as specialized airfoils for efficient flight.

Hope it helps

Your answer is:

Each feather on a bird's body is a finely tuned structure that serves an important role in the bird's activities. Feathers help birds fly, but they also help them show off, blend in, stay warm and keep dry.

I hope this will help you.
