When the sunlight enters a water droplet, it undergoes refraction first, which leads it to split into the spectrum. A spectrum of colours from Red to Violet according to VIBGYOR and then again after internal reflection, the colours gets refracted out of the water droplet and forms a rainbow in the opposite direction from the sun rays.
