There are millions of tiny , finger projections called villi in small intestine .

The presence of villi gives the small intestine a very large surface area .

And the large surface area helps in the rapid absorption of digested food .

The digested food which is absorbed through the walls of small intestine , goes in to our blood .

The small intestine is the main site of absorption of digested food ...
