The given statement is false.

Carbohydrates are not body building nutrients, but proteins are body building nutrients.

Carbohydrates provide energy to the body. Rice, chappatis, potatoes etc are examples of carbohydrates that supply energy to the body.

On the other hand, animal meat, fishes, eggs, pulses etc are proteins that help in body building that is why they are needed in abundance in case of growing children.

Carbohydrates are body building nutrients. The statement is True

EXPLANATION:

  • Unlike lifting weight for improving overall health and muscle mass, body building is specifically directed to significant muscle growth and emphasizes appearance over performance.
  • Carbohydrates form a 'key component of the bodybuilding' diet in addition to 'lean protein'. 'Carbohydrates' are especially useful right after a workout. This is because the body uses glycogen stores to fuel the exercise during an anaerobic weight training.
  • Carbon eating replaces this type of glucose storage after a workout and helps the restoration. Include nuts, rice, oats meal, sweet potatoes, peas, corn, or whole wheat bread as successful sources of carbohydrates.
