What is knowledge? How does one acquire knowledge? Do we know anything or do we know nothing? In order to answer such questions you must have knowledge, and that it the illusion of knowledge. Some may think they know the answer yet they can never be certain. Is there anything in the world anyone can be certain about? Maybe it's the fact that in the end we shall all die, but will we? Will technology find no way to stop the inevitable?
How do you know that you are good at something? How do you know you are not living in a dream within a dream? You think to yourself that you know all of this, that these are just silly questions meant to confuse you. Yet if you think about it, are they?Tests results can be changed and forged. What proof is there that this is no dream? None.
We pride ourselves in knowledge. Some say they're good at maths, others at the arts. But do we know or do we assume?
There is no true knowledge in this life, no matter how confident you are in the answer. There is always a one percent chance that you don't know anything. Although small it's quite grand.
The illusion of knowledge derives from assumptions. An assumption is not the same thing as knowledge. Having knowledge about something says that you are confident in your answer, that you for certain know what you believe is true.
An assumption is something entirely different. You think you are right, you think you know what you know. But you think, you are not certain. With one valid point your view on your assumption may change.
Ergo, they are not the same. We assume they are the same and yet they are not. How do we know that knowledge even exists?
In essence the illusion of knowledge is simply what we do to ourselves. We make ourselves think we know something. But do we really? We are the ones who are forming the illusions. Does knowledge even exist? How will we ever know? The illusion of knowledge is just that.
