Answer:

Any reaction that produces a precipitate can be called a precipitation reaction.

eg: Lead iodide (PbI2)

Balanced chemical equation: Na2SO4(aq) + BaCl2(aq) → BaSO4(s) + 2NaCl(aq).

Here, in the reactants side Na2SO4 ( Sodium sulphate ) and BaCl2 (Barium chloride ) are aqueous solution (liquid state ) . And in the products side, BaSO4 (Barium sulphate) is solid state and 2NaCl ( Sodium chloride ) is an aqueous solution (liquid state )

Here barium sulphate is the precipitate (BaSO4)

Hope this helps...

Answer: An aqueous reaction in which an insoluble product (precipitate out) is called precipitation reaction.

Explanation: A precipitate is solid that forms out a solution and it is insoluble in water.

eg. Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) and sodium chloride (NaCl) results in formation of silver chloride (AgCl) and sodium nitrate (NaNO3)

HERE AgCl is a precipitate

AgNO3 (s) + NaCl (s)  gives to AgCl (pt) + NaNO3  (s) - balanced equation.
