GIVEN :-

  • One of the rational number is 20/-9
  • Product of both numbers = -5/9

TO FIND :-

  • The rational number.

SOLUTION :-

Let the rational number be x.

=> 20/-9 = -20/9

A.T.Q

=> -20/9 × x = -5/9

=> x = -5/9 ÷ -20/9

=> x = -5/9 × -9/20

=> x = 1/4

Hence the rational number be 1/4.

VERIFICATION :-

=> 1/5 × -20/9 = -5/9

=> -5/9 = -5/9

L.H.S = R.H.S
