let the two parts are x and y ,,

By given first condition,

x+y = 34 -----(1)

By Given second condition,,

4x/7 = 2y/5

4x/7 -2y/5 =0

20x -14y /35 =0

20x-14y=0...........multi...both sides by 35

10x-7y=0-----(2) .......Divi both sides by 2

eqn (1) ×7 +eqn (2)

7x+7y=34×7

10x-7y=0

17x = 34×7

x =34×7/17 = 14

x=14

substituting this value in eqn (1)

14+y=34

y= 34-14

y=20

The two parts are 14 and 20

4/7 ×14 = 8

2/5 ×20 = 8

14+20=34.
