Given:

The area of a rhombus is 240cm² and one of the diagonals is 16cm.

To find:

The other diagonal.

Explanation:

We have,

  • Area of the rhombus= 240cm²
  • Diagonal,1 of rhombus= 16cm

We know that formula of the area of rhombus:

\frac{1}{2} *d1*d2   [sq.units]

\frac{1}{\cancel{2}} *\cancel{16cm}*d2\:=240cm^{2}

⇒ 8cm × d2 = 240cm²

⇒ d2 = \frac{\cancel{240cm^{2}} }{\cancel{8cm} }

⇒ d2 = 30cm.

Thus,

The other diagonal of rhombus is 30cm.
