(5+√6)/(5-√6) =a+b√6
multiply and divide the left side by (5+√6)
(5+√6)(5+√6)/((5-√6)(5+√6)) = a+ b√6
The denominator o the left side is (a-b)(a+b) = a^2-b^2
a=5
a^2=25
b=√6
b^2=6
a^2-b^2 = 25-6 = 19

(5+√6)^2 /19 = a+b√6
(25+6+10√6) /19 = a+b√6
(31+10√6) /19 = a+b√6
31/19 + 10√6/19 = a+b√6
a = 31/19
b= 10/19
