Answer:

distance from bullet to wall = y

distance from gun to wall = x

lets take the whole figure as a right-angled triangle where the distance from gun to bullet is the hypotenuse and distance from the wall to gun is base and distance from the bullet to base of wall is height.

Thus we can find out the distance from gun to bullet by

the pythagoras system.

let the distance from gun to bullet be a

a^2 = x^2 + y^2

therefore a = the total square root of ( x^2 + y^2 )
