Answer:

let the perimeter of rectangle be x

and the perimeter of square be y

According to the question

x=2/5×y-2 (equation 1)

we have,

Perimeter of square= 40 m

and we take length be l

and breath be b

l=3b (equation 2)

we take equation 1

x=2/5×y-2 (we know perimeter of square is 40 m)

x is also 40 m means perimeter of rectangle is also 40 m.

putting the equation 2 in this equation

we know that

perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)

40=2(l+l) (l=3b)

40=2×2l

40=4l

l=10 m

thus,

length=10 m

and breath=> l=3b=> b=l/3 => 10/3 = 3.33 m

breath= 3.33 m

I hope it is useful for you.

Thanks
