5x+7/2 = 3x/2 -14

(10x+7)/2 = (3x-28)/2

10x+7 = 3x -28

7x = -35

x = -35/7

x = -5

Given:

  • \small{\bf{5x+\dfrac{7}{2}~=~\dfrac{3x}{2}-14}}

To Find:

  • Solve and find value of x

Solution:

We have given equation is \small{\bf{5x+\dfrac{7}{2}~=~\dfrac{3x}{2}-14}}.

We can write it as :

  • \small{\bf{\dfrac{5x}{1}+\dfrac{7}{2}~=~\dfrac{3x}{2}-\dfrac{14}{1}}}

Solving this:

\small{\bf{\dfrac{5x}{1}+\dfrac{7}{2}~=~\dfrac{3x}{2}-\dfrac{14}{1}}}

[LCM of 1, 2 is 2 and LCM of 2,1 is 2]

\implies\small{\bf{\dfrac{2(5x)+1(7)}{2}~=~\dfrac{1(3x)-2(14)}{2}}}

\implies\small{\bf{\dfrac{10x+7}{2}~=~\dfrac{3x-28}{2}}}

[On cross multiplication]

\implies\small{\bf{2(10x+7)~=~2(3x-28)}}

\implies\small{\bf{20x+14~=~6x-56}}

\implies\small{\bf{20x-6x~=~-56-14}}

\implies\small{\bf{14x~=~-70}}

\implies\small{\bf{x~=~\dfrac{-70}{14}}}

\implies\small{\bf{x~=~-5}}

Therefore:

  • \large{\underline{\boxed{\small{\bf{\red{Value~of~x~in~given~equation~is~-5}}}}}}
