area of triangle is 1/2 base height.
so let the parallelogram divided into two triangle by the diagonal line.
so base will 40cm that is diagonal.
height will be half of diagonal that is 20cm
so area of 1st triangle is 1/2* 40* 20
so 40*20=80 so 1/2 of 80 is 40
so area of whole parallelogram that is formed by two triangle is 40+40= 80cm sq.
