(3) - b:

Given : 4x + y = 14  ------------- (1)

Given : 5x + 6y = 27 ------------ (2)

On solving (1) * 5 & (2) * 4, we get

20x + 5y = 70

20x + 24y = 108

-----------------------

           -19y = -38

             y = -38/19

             y = 2.

Substitute y = 2 in (1), we get

4x + y = 14

4x + 2 = 14

4x = 14 - 2

4x = 12

x = 3.

Therefore x = 3, y = 2.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Here is your answer,

 4x + y = 14  -- Considering equation as (1)
5x + 6y = 27-- Considering equation as (2)

And now multiply equation (1) with 5 and equation (2) with 4. We will solve both the equation.

20x + 5y = 70

20x + 24y = 108    { We need to use elimination method }
----------------------

   0 -19y = -38

 y = -38/19

 y = 2

Now,

Substituting y = 2 in equation (1)

→ 4x + 2 = 14

→ 4x = 14 - 2

→ 4x = 12

→ x = 3.

Hope it helps you !
