Question :-

If the discriminant of the equation

6x² - bx +2 = 0 is 1 then find the value of b.

Answer :-

→ b = +7 or -7

To find :-

→ value of "b" ,

Formula used :-

• Discriminant (D) = B² - 4AC

\_________________/

Explanation :-

given equation is

→ 6x² - bx +2 =0

we know that standard equation

→ Ax² +Bx + C = 0

comparing both equations

→ A = 6 , B = - b and C = 2

→ D = (- b )² - 4 × 6 × 2

→ D = b² -48

given Discriminant (D) = 1

→ 1 = b² - 48

→ 1+48 = b²

→b² = 49

→ b = +7 or -7
