so here,

f= R/2

=16/2 cm

=8cm

u(object distance)= 12cm

v(image distance) = ?

Now by using above formula, we can write:

1/8=1/v+1/12

1/v=1/8-1/12

1/v=1/24

v= 24cm

Therefore the position of image is beyond 2f at distance 24cm from pole.
