Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:BO = 7⃣▪2⃣ cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : ABCD is a trapezium in which AB||CD.

It is also given that,

AB = 9 cm,

CD = 6 cm and

BD = 12 cm.

Now,

Let BO = x cm

Then, DO = ( 12 - x ) cm

Now, In Δ AOB and Δ COD, we get

< AOB = < COD ( vertically opposite angles)

and,

< OAB = < OCD ( as AB||CD and AC is the transversal so eternal interior angles )

➡️ Δ AOB ~ Δ COD ( by AA similarity criterion )

Now,

AB = BO

----- -----

CD DO

9 cm = x cm

➡️ -------- --------

6 cm (12 - x) cm

x = 3

➡️ ------ ----

12 - x 2

➡️ 2x = 3( 12 - x)

➡️ 2x = 36 - 3x

➡️ 3x + 2x = 36

➡️ 5x = 36

➡️ x = 36 / 5

➡️ x = 7.2

Hence, BO is equal to 7.2 cm.
