Using Alternate angle theorem,

when line AB || line CD,

angle EDC = 52°

Now, Sum of all angles of triangle = 180°

40° + 52° + x = 180°

x = 88°

Given,

Angle BAD = 52°

Angle BAD = Angle CDE (Alternative interior angles)

So, Angle CDE = 52°

In ∆le EDC

Angle DEC + Angle CDE + Angle DCE = 180°(Sum of angles of a ∆le)

x°+52°+40° = 180°

x° = 180°-92°

x° = 88°

Angle DEC => x° = 88°
