Hi there,

Here is your answer :
______________________________

I) Total number of balls in the bag = 3 + 5 = 8

Total outcomes = 8

Favourable outcomes = 3

Probability of getting a red card,

= P( E) = Favourable outcomes / Total outcomes

= 3/8

ii) If p( E~) is the probability of getting not a red ball, then

p(E) + p( E~) = 1

P(E~) = 1 - P(E~)

= 1 - 3/8

= 5/8
