PLZ SOLVE THIS FOR MY SIS.....
a vendor purchased 50 dozen bananas for rs. 600. five bananas could not be sold because they got rotten. at what price per dozen should the vendor sell the remaining bananas so that he can make an overall profit of 20%?

Answer :-

Given that

number of bananas purchased = 50 dozen or 50 × 12 = 600 bananas

Cost price of 600 bananas = ₹600

=> one banana costs ₹1

Also it's given that five of them got rotten

then Number of bananas left = 595

Now to get 20% profit he have to sell all 595 bananas at

 \frac{120}{100} × 600

= 120 × 6

= ₹720

Now as Selling price of 595 bananas = 720

Then each banana costs

=  \frac{720}{595}

=₹ 1.21008

Or he should sell one dozen at

₹( 12 × 1.21008)

=₹ 14.52096
