Multiply the eq by 3

21y2-11y-2=0

21y2-14y+3y-2=0

7y(3y-2)+1(3y-2)=0

(7y+1)(3y-2)=0

y=-1/7 and y = 2/3

a=7 b=-11/3 c=-2/3

sum of roots is -1/7+2/3=11/21 =-b/a

product of root=-2/21=c/a
