multiplying eq 1 by 2

6x + 6y = 24......(3)

adding eq 3 and 2

46x = 48

x= 24/23

substitute value of x in eq (1)

3(24/23) + 3y = 12

y = 68/ 23

therefore x = 24/23

and y = 68/23
