Putting x = 2 : -

\longmapsto\tt{{(2)}^{3}-5{(2)}^{2}+a(2)-7=0}

\longmapsto\tt{8-5(4)+2a-7=0}

\longmapsto\tt{8-20+2a-7=0}

\longmapsto\tt{2a=-8+20+7}

\longmapsto\tt{2a=19}

So , The value of a is 19/2...
