if the denominator of the given number have only 2 and 5 as their prime factors then the number will be terminating.

  1. 80 = 2 x2 x 2 x2 x5 so it is terminating because it has only 2 and 5 as it as its prime factors
  2. 24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 it is not a terminating number because it has 2 and 3 as its prime factors.
  3. 12 = 2 x 2 x 3 it is not a terminating number because it has 2 and 3 as its prime factors.
  4. 375 = 3 x 5 x 5 x 5 it is not a terminating number because again it has 2 and 3 as its prime factors.
  5. 125 = 5 x 5 x 5 it is not a terminating number because it has only 5 as its prime factor.
